J-2B was born in Denison, Texas but traveled the world with his military parents during his younger days. Now this singer / rapper / producer / songwriter has come to know the Inland Empire as the only home he’s truly ever known, residing in Highland, CA for over 20 years. His diverse hobbies and interest include sports, reading books, dancing, and of course, and overwhelming passion for music.
As far back as he could remember, J-2B always had a beat and a melody going in his head. Then, as well as now, his favorite songs are the old school classics from artist such as Earth, Wind, & Fire, Curtis Mayfield, and the Isley Brothers. J-2B got his music jump-start performing with his high school band. Years later, he joined a local rap group called “Mack & the Beat”. Being the only member of the group with any music experience he not only rapped, but made the beats and sung all the lead and background vocals. Through the medium of rap music, J-2B gained much notoriety as a singer and producer. He gained a reputation for being a hard worker, dedicated to his love for music and fully committed to any project he undertook. It wasn’t long before major and independent record labels were enlisting this multitalented artist.
J-2B showed his full range of talent as a singer on his debut album entitled “20 Cooler ‘N the Shade” which he clearly defines as a songwriter’s album. He Latest and soon to be released CD, “Grown Folk Bizness”, expands on his musical talents and is sure to be a success. Inspired by people and events that have shaped his life, J-2B’s lyrics gives listeners something they can feel and relate to with each song taking them on a musical joyride to enlightenment. With songs like “Peace Of Mind”, and “Soul Sista”, it is clear to see that J-2B is a new star in the making, ready to rise high in the sky for all to see and appreciate.
